He made a very substantial award of interim damages which enabled us to purchase the property for the client, have it adapted for her needs and she was able to move in. All this was accomplished far more quickly than is the norm. We firmly believe that this is because of the fact that we are a small firm where we could give her our full attention and the case was always dealt with by the same people throughout.

We then pursued her claim to a final conclusion where a further very substantial award of damages was made together with periodical payments order to cover her care needs and the maintenance of the property for the rest of her life. Not only that but the sum is index linked to the retail price index. In the view of the Leading Counsel, this was an exceptionally good settlement and the client was so delighted that she invited our firm and the barristers to a dinner and speeches were made on behalf of the family thanking the legal team for the outstanding result.
